The majority of visitors to ADIPEC are interested in new market expansion and seeking growth opportunities, demonstrating the event’s value as a catalyst for business and partnerships, a recent ADIPEC report has found.
The ADIPEC Buyers and Sellers Report discovered that while buyers and sellers attending ADIPEC have distinct priorities, the desire to expand into new markets was shared by both, with 70% of sellers and 33% of buyers focused on expanding into new markets. Neutral attendees – who are visitors who did not identify as either buyer or seller – were also focused on expanding into new markets (49%) as well as seeking strategic partnerships (39%).
Validating the intent of these three groups, the survey found that over 40% of ADIPEC visitors gathered strong leads at ADIPEC, while 20% secured deals or purchase commitments, reinforcing ADIPEC as a high-impact sales and networking platform.
Among the topics of interest for ADIPEC visitors, the survey noted that 41% of respondents were focused on renewables, 29% were focused on carbon capture, 26% were interested in energy storage, and 24% were interested in hydrogen, indicating the growing importance of sustainability and decarbonisation in the energy sector.
For buyers, 49% were interested in carbon capture, 32% were interested in hydrogen, 25% were interested in energy storage, and 6% were interested in renewables, signalling a shift towards sustainability-related solutions. Decarbonisation and the global energy transition are increasingly central topics of focus of ADIPEC, which can be seen from ADIPEC’s Decarbonisation Zone, decarbonisation conference stream, and hydrogen conference stream.
ADIPEC, which celebrates its ability to convene decision-makers from across the energy value chain, also noted that 32-35% of respondents were senior managers while 15% were heads of department.
The report, which is based on the findings of an online survey sent out to ADIPEC 2024 attendees, was prepared by research and strategic consultant GRS. ADIPEC 2024 had 205,000+ attendees from 172 countries representing the entire energy value chain.
