ADIPEC Technical Excellence Awards
The inaugural ADIPEC Technical Excellence Awards aim to recognise outstanding technical contributions that demonstrate excellence in research quality, innovation, and measurable industry impact. Through a structured and merit-based evaluation process, the ADIPEC Technical Excellence Awards seek to identify and honour the winners for each technical category.
The Awards will be presented on Wednesday, 4 November as part of the ADIPEC Technical Conferences programme.
The Awards programme aims to:
- Encourage and uphold the highest standards of technical excellence and contribution.
- Support and promote the development of emerging researchers and students within the field.
- Recognise work and service that demonstrate meaningful impact on the industry and professional community.
- Ensure a fair, transparent, and merit-based evaluation and recognition process.

Submission guidelines overview
Proposal must:
- Be written in English
- Present original work and technical insight
- Demonstrate practical application and industry relevance
- Avoid commercial or promotional language
- Clearly outline methodology, results and conclusions
Accepted authors will be invited to present through technical or ePoster sessions and submit a full manuscript for the conference proceedings.

Frequently asked questions
Is there a fee for submitting?
No, there is no fee for submitting a paper proposal. The submission process is completely free. Should your paper proposal be accepted into the programme, the author will receive a discounted rate to register for the Technical Conference.
Can I submit multiple paper proposals?
Yes, each author may submit a maximum of three paper proposals. Each submission must be unique and tailored to the conference focus. Please do not submit the same paper proposal under multiple categories, and make sure each paper proposal follows the recommended length (around 450 words) and structure outlined in the guidelines.
What makes a strong technical paper?
A strong technical paper is built on clear objectives, solid methodology, and meaningful results or observations. In line with the guidelines, it should:
- Address Industry-Relevant Topics
Tackle key challenges, trends, or advancements in the upstream sector.
- Demonstrate Originality and Innovation
Present new knowledge, insights, or solutions rather than reiterating well-known practices. Emphasise novel or additive information.
- Exhibit Technical Rigor
Use robust methodologies, experiments, or data analysis. Include specific, quantifiable results such as simulations, modelling techniques, or field-tested applications.
- Highlight Practical Applications
Showcase real-world case studies or project reviews with measurable impacts on performance, cost-efficiency, or sustainability.
- Incorporate Cross-Disciplinary Approaches
Integrate concepts from various fields to provide broader insights into industry challenges.
- Maintain Clarity and Readability
Ensure your paper is well-structured, with defined objectives and logical flow. Visual aids (charts, diagrams, graphs) are encouraged to enhance comprehension and engagement.
Remember to avoid commercial or marketing content and adhere to the recommended format (Objectives, Method/Procedures, Results/Observations/Conclusions, Novel/Additive Information).
What happens after submission?
Once you submit your paper proposal, it will be reviewed by the conference’s Technical Programme Committee. Submissions are evaluated based on criteria such as relevance to the industry, technical depth, clarity, and alignment with the conference categories. If your paper proposal is accepted, you will receive instructions on preparing your final paper or presentation. Failure to comply with submission guidelines or deadlines may result in removal from the conference programme.
Do I have to submit a white paper if my paper proposals is selected?
Yes. If your paper proposals is accepted, you will be required to submit a full technical paper (or equivalent final manuscript) that meets the conference’s guidelines. This final submission must reflect the content outlined in your paper proposal and will be subject to any additional review or formatting requirements specified by the Technical Programme Committee.
