OLEFINS & AROMATICS PETROCHEMICAL INDUSTRIES COMPANY (PIC)
Hosnia Hashim is an executive of the Kuwait oil sector, with a career shaped by a trail of successes. She was the first-ever woman appointed as a Director of an oil and gas asset producing 700,000 barrels of oil per day in the State of Kuwait, marking her lastingly a pioneer role model for women in the Middle East and the World.
She is now the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Petrochemical Industries Company of Kuwait (PIC), in charge of Olefins and Aromatics. And she is the Chair and Executive Director of the Board of Equate Petrochemical Company, with operations in Kuwait, North America and Europe. She also chairs TKOC Board, The Kuwait Olefins Company. With these roles, she is responsible for one of the key segments of the downstream sector of the State of Kuwait.
She was Vice President of Operations of Kuwait Foreign Petroleum Exploration Company (KUFPEC), with operations in 15 countries, spanning three continents. Previously, she had been Deputy CEO of the North Kuwait asset of Kuwait Oil Company (KOC), from 2007 to June 2013, and Deputy Managing Director of West Kuwait Asset of Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) from 2005 to 2007.
Ms. Hosnia is the Founder and Chair of the Professional Women Network of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation and its subsidiaries, a pioneer Middle East initiative for the advancement of women in the oil sector of Kuwait.
A Kuwaiti national, Hosnia earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Kuwait University, and volunteers extensively for professional societies: She was Chair of the SPE Middle East Board of Directors, Regional Director MENA and India region
