SHELL ABU DHABI
Albert graduated in 1984 as Mining Engineer (MSc) from the Technical University Delft, Netherlands, specializing in Geophysics. He joined Shell International in 1984 as a petroleum engineer and since then has held various responsibilities in petroleum engineering, business development, asset commercial, assurance and JV governance.
Since October 2012,Albert is the Technical Manager for Shell Abu Dhabi. In this role he is responsible on a day-to-day basis for representing Shell interests in Upstream and Downstream JVs and for the technical advice and support to these JVs. To his opinion HSSE, asset integrity, safety in operations and production optimisation combined with talent development are the cornerstones of efficient and safe oil and gas operations. Sustainability defines the boundary conditions. In his role he has very frequent contacts and engagements with ADNOC and ADNOC Group Companies.
Previously Albert has worked on exploration and field development projects in UK, Netherlands, Egypt, Venezuela and Kazakhstan with responsibilities ranging from petroleum engineering operations support to field development manager.In addition he has worked in variety of roles and management positions on asset commercial and business development projects for E&P and Gas and Power in Europe, Central Asia/Russia and China.
Albert is married with 2 daughtersin secondary school and 2 sons in university. His hobbies are golf, tennis, travel and not often enough he finds time to use his flying pilots license.
