Director, Communications – Turbomachinery & Process Solutions
Sara Hassett is Director, Global Communications for the Turbomachinery & Process Solutions (TPS) business at Baker Hughes, a GE company (BHGE). With operations across 120 countries and serving the entire oil and gas value chain and the industrial sector, TPS boasts one of the industry’s most extensive portfolios for rotating equipment, process flow, transmission technology and lifecycle services. In this role Sara is responsible for leading the development and execution of a holistic, global communications strategy for the business, engaging internal and external stakeholders with the company’s brand, culture, purpose and portfolio of technology solutions.
Sara is a member of the BHGE Diversity & Inclusion Executive Council and the Program Director for BHGE’s Annual Meeting, which every year convenes in Florence, Italy more than 1,300 global leaders from across the energy industry for two days of thought-provoking dialogue on the biggest challenges and opportunities facing the sector.
Prior to her current role, Sara was part of the BHGE Extended HR Leadership team as the Global Diversity, Inclusion & Culture Director for BHGE, where she was responsible for the design and implementation of programs, processes and initiatives to foster a company culture that enables BHGE’s employees to thrive, be inspired and do their best work each day. In this capacity, she partnered with a team of multi-functional stakeholders from both within and outside the company, to define D&I and culture outcomes that could generate the greatest impact for BHGE, its customers and the communities in which it operates.
An 18+ year professional, Sara has held roles of increasing responsibility in marketing, brand, communications, change management and culture curation, as well as playing a leading role in the integration planning for the merger that culminated in the creation of BHGE. Prior to joining BHGE, Sara worked in Milan, London and New York for leading multinational technology providers and non-profit organizations. She holds a B.A. from University College London in the UK and a Master’s in International Affairs from the School of International and Public Affairs of Columbia University in New York.
Born in Sweden and raised in Italy, Switzerland, Jamaica, Argentina, the United Kingdom and the United States, Sara considers herself a global citizen who thrives on connecting with different cultures, experimenting with new ways of working, and building a more inclusive world. When she is not travelling, Sara is based in Florence, Italy where she lives with her husband and two strong and wonderfully unique daughters.
