Dr. Behjat AlYousuf is the Executive Vice President for Outreach and Engagement at the world’s first specialized AI university since May 2020. Dr. AlYousuf served as the Provost of Masdar Institute in 2015.

She is a Board of Trustees member for UAE Space Agency, jury member of the Zayed Sustainability Prize, member of the advisory council of the Women in Sustainability, Environment and Renewable Energy (WiSER), an initiative founded by Masdar and the Zayed Future Energy Prized (ZFEP), jury member of Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference Award (ADIPEC) and others.

In 2016 she received the Arab Woman Award in the Business of Education category. In 2008, she was recognized by INSEAD as one of 20 most influential women in UAE and voted as one of the 20 most powerful UAE women by Emirates Woman Magazine. She has also received the UAE businesswomen award for Career Achievement in 2006 and the Sheikh Rashid Award for Scientific achievement, in addition to many leadership awards.

She serves on international and regional groups such as UN Global Alliances for Information Development (UN GAID), World Federation of Women Engineering, International Taskforce for Women in Technology.

Her career spans over 30 years of experience in higher education began with the Higher Colleges of Technology in 1990 and then with Zayed University.

Dr. AlYousuf also has a track-record of presenting ground-breaking research, including delivery of multiple publications on subjects ranging from education, entrepreneurship and software architecture and presentation of key papers at prestigious regional and international events.

Dr. AlYousuf earned her doctorate in Software Engineering from Reading University in the UK, an MSc in Computer Science from Cardiff University, UK, and a BSc in Computer Engineering from University of North Carolina in Charlotte, USA.
