Japan Oil Development Co., Ltd. (JODCO), a subsidiary of INPEX CORPORATION, has been involved in the development and production of offshore and onshore oil fields in Abu Dhabi for almost 50 years.
Today, INPEX/JODCO is working to further enhance the production capacity of these oil fields, particularly at the Lower Zakum Oil Field as Asset Leader. Meanwhile, INPEX/JODCO leads exploration activities at Onshore Block 4, where drilling commenced in May 2021. Furthermore, looking towards a net zero carbon society by 2050, INPEX/JODCO is evaluating opportunities to produce hydrogen and ammonia from natural gas lifted in Abu Dhabi, utilizing the CO2 created in the process to enhance oil recovery in Abu Dhabi while supplying clean fuel to Japanese utilities
