Influential Decision-Makers Take Part in Closed-Door Meetings, Held Over Days Two and Three of ADIPEC

Abu Dhabi, UAE – 14 November 2018 – Three closed-door roundtables, open only to an invited group of the most influential oil and gas decision-makers, are further enhancing Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference’s (ADIPEC’s) leading role in setting a shared strategic vision for the global industry.
Organised in collaboration with three leading international consultancies - Accenture, PwC and A.T. Kearney – as thought-leadership partners, the ADIPEC 2018 Strategic Roundtables were held on days two and three of ADIPEC. Outcomes will be summarised into a manifesto for the future of oil and gas globally, with initial insights to be shared on the event’s final day, Thursday, 15 November.
Each roundtable is held under ‘Chatham House’ rules, so while the outcomes will be public, exactly who says what remains confidential.
“The ADIPEC 2018 Strategic Roundtables create a forum where some of the industry’s most powerful names, whose public statements can immediately affect oil prices, are able to share their opinions openly, but privately, with their peers,” said Christopher Hudson, President – dmg events, which organises ADIPEC.
“Demand for oil and gas will continue to grow, but the nature of that demand will also change. These discussions will define the future of oil and gas through a deeper and shared understanding of how to adapt successfully. The roundtables will offer solid strategic insights, and a manifesto to ensure that the oil and gas sector continues to thrive while also fulfilling its important role in global economies.”
Hosted as part of the VIP Middle East Petroleum Club programme, each roundtable covers a separate layer of the oil and gas value chain, facilitated by one thought-leadership partner. Accenture is the partner for the upstream sector, PwC for midstream, and A.T. Kearney for downstream. Their role is to drive the discussion into a forward-looking narrative, building on their deep industry knowledge and expert insights into the latest trends.
The partners produce white papers before, during and after the events, combining the outcomes into a final declaration.

Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE; hosted by the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC); and supported by the UAE Ministry of Energy & Industry, the Abu Dhabi Chamber, and the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority, ADIPEC is take place from 12 to 15 November 2018, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).
