Make it in the Emirates

Last week, Abu Dhabi hosted the Make it in the Emirates Forum, 21-22 June, a showcase of the UAE’s latest and most exciting national products. Organised by the UAE Ministry of Industry & Advanced Technology, alongside ADNOC and the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development, the Forum provided the perfect platform for the global industrial community to learn more about innovations in the UAE economy. Major local and international investors as well as manufacturers attended and explored ways to tap into the UAE’s vibrant industrial ecosystem.

Despite the COVID pandemic and global economic slowdown, the UAE’s industrial sector has grown rapidly over the past few years. In addition to being one of the world’s go-to investment destinations, the UAE has become an emerging global hub for manufacturing and industry. Due to its reliable supply chain and stable regulatory framework, as well as its skilled workforce and well-developed infrastructure, today the UAE is an ideal environment for businesses looking to expand.

The Forum showcased investment opportunities in three main sectors: telecoms, aerospace, and most significantly, energy. A major global energy producer, the UAE’s energy sector offers significant investment opportunities across the value chain, from drilling, equipment & services, exploration & production, refining & marketing, to storage & transportation, oil & gas, and renewables.

Since launching its industrial strategy Operation 300bn in 2021 the UAE has taken significant steps towards supporting the growth of national industries and attracting foreign investment by fostering an attractive investment environment, with a strong focus on energy. This industrial strategy is aligned with national and international commitments relating to advancing sustainable economic growth, deploying clean energy solutions, and driving industrial innovation. Initiatives to step up hydrogen production, develop the world’s largest solar plant, and MASDAR city, are all supported by this approach.

Taking place in October later this year, ADIPEC 2022 will build on the conversation at this year’s Make it in the Emirates Forum, showcasing the innovations in manufacturing that can help create a more sustainable and resilient energy future. ADIPEC’s Smart Manufacturing Exhibition & Conference will bridge the gap between energy, manufacturing, and high-tech sectors in order to advance economic and environmental sustainability, and set the agenda for the next phase of growth in both energy and manufacturing industries.

ADIPEC’s dedicated Smart Manufacturing Zone will provide a forum for leading manufacturers to engage with energy leaders and decision-makers as they focus on developing smart manufacturing ecosystems to build resilience, drive profitability, empower people, leverage future growth opportunities and overcome net-zero carbon energy challenges.

The future of the energy industry will be shaped at ADIPEC 2022 – don’t miss out. Join the conversation from 30 October – 3 November in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
