Tackling the methane challenge: UNEP’s Oil and Gas Methane Partnership 2.0 and Aiming for Zero Methane Emissions Initiative
The Leadership Roundtable sought to gain industry insights, perspectives and to gather ideas and initiatives exploring strategies to reduce methane emissions. The key questions examined during the discussions included:
- What would it take to drastically reduce oil and gas methane emissions and what opportunities could arise from these reductions.
- How initiatives, such as the Oil and Gas Methane Partnership 2.0, a United Nations Environment Programme mitigation programme and OGCI’s Aiming for Zero Methane Emissions Initiatives, can accelerate results.
- How major stakeholders can work together to create an ecosystem that favours zero methane emissions.
