Alexander Don

Alec Don joined Abu Dhabi Ports Group in early 2020 as Chief Operating Officer of the Ports Cluster bringing a wealth of experience from over 25 years in the Ports Industry.  This included 10 year as Chief Executive of Milford Haven Port Authority, the UK’s largest energy port and host to the UK’s South Hook and Dragon LNG terminals, which together have the capacity to import as much as 30% of the UK’s demand for gas, and also to Valero’s Pembroke Refinery.  Other roles include being the founding Chief Executive of Maputo Port Development Company where he led the initial privatization of the largest port in Mozambique and Director of the Port of Liverpool for Peel Ports.  His early career was in corporate finance with UK Merchant Bank Robert Fleming & Co and graduated with a degree in Engineering Science from Oxford University.
