Mohamed Amr Sry

My name is Mohamed Sry, Egyptian, I was born in Cairo, the capital city of Egypt. I am married and have two kids.

I am currently an Electrical Department Leader managing the electrical department of EniProgetti Egypt.

I had been graduated in 2006 / BSc. in Power and Machine Electrical Engineering, from Ain Shams University one of the oldest and greatest universities in the Middle East.

I have been started my career journey at 2006 by joining PETROJET, one of the biggest EPC contractors in the Middle East. I joined the electrical department engineering team in the engineering affairs department in the head office located in Cairo. I successes to execute detailed engineering for many strategic industrial projects in Egypt, UAE, Libya, Algeria, and Iraq. My career journey in PETROJET extends for eight (8) years until mid of 2014.

I challenged myself to continue my career journey in another place with totally different experiences by joining JACOBS KSA as a Senior Electrical Engineer from mid of 2014 until September 2019. I performed all types of projects starting from Feasibility until detail engineering & construction support. The career journey in JACOBS extends for five and half years (5.5) years until September 2019.

I continually challenge myself to continue my career journey by joining EniProgetti Egypt, the engineering arm of Eni as Senior Electrical Engineer from September until February 2021, then I was promoted as Electrical Department Leader from February 2021 to the present. I performed a lot of projects for Eni facilities supporting the strategic plan Eni.

Currently, I am leading the electrical department by organizing and facilitating the team to ensure a safe environment, empowering the team to build an agile and creative team capable to drive the changes effectively and withstand and face any challenges.

During my career journey, I didn’t forget to improve my skills by success to be PMP certified from PMI in 2018 and I continually improve my managerial skills by getting ACP “Agile Certified Practitioner” from PMI in 2021. The gained certificate in addition to practical experience helped to build a positive mindset and improve my managerial skills.

As a department leader with the help of electrical team, we successfully organized the development plan for energy evolution at EniProgetti Egypt in order to support the strategic vision of Eni for energy transformation, by improving the technical skills of an electrical department to be able to execute the renewable energy projects for Photovoltaic & Wind energy systems, in green and brown fields starting from feasibility study until detail engineering and construction support.

I have performed many Techno-Economic analyses for integration of various types of renewable energy sources (PV, Wind) with conventional electrical power generation sources (GTG “ Gas Turbine Generators” or national grid) at different applications to achieve the sustainable hybrid system configuration.
