Michael Czarnecki

Michael is an experienced study manager and engineering manager with extensive knowledge of the offshore and onshore energy industries.  He is Chartered Chemical Engineer with experience in projects that involve waste to value, green hydrogen production as well as oil and gas facilities. 

He successfully led the FireFly1 FEED Project, which was a joint endeavor between Green Fuels Research, Petrofac and Cranfield University.  FireFly1 is a demonstration plant for an integrated technology route to sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) using sewage sludge as feedstock.  The plant would be capable of processing 33.3TPD of sewage sludge (wet weight) to generate 1TPD of SAF. 

Michael has experience in development projects which involve both brownfield and green field elements.  He has a deep understanding of project execution and project related risks from the technical challenges, supply chain, installation, construction, commissioning, and operational risks / opportunities / mitigations as well as understanding of project cost estimation, project economics and project delivery schedules.
