Dr. Ekin Kaya is leader of Risk Analysis and Design Safety Department at TEKFEN Engineering.
He is entitled as CFSP (Certified Functional Safety Professional) and AMP (Alarm Management Practitioner) by EXIDA. Besides being a safety-in-design engineer, he also worked as an academic and a consultant in his career.
He was awarded a PhD. by Hacettepe University and the essence of his studies and professional experience so far has been the harmonization of technical risk management lifecycle with project management algorithms particularly at front-end loading and detailed design phases. Accordingly, he is interested in advancement of decision making and holistic risk management strategies in terms of technological readiness, inherent safety, constructability, safety-in-design and other dimensions of technical risks that emerge to be considered during different design phases at different level of detail.
Ekin had consulted for more than 40 industrial facilities that are in operation at different sectors including explosives, fertilizers and chemicals production. Since after joining TEKFEN, his portfolio focused on front-end loading and detailed design phases of refinery and petrochemical plant projects as well as projects on emerging new technologies.
