Carl Clayton is an Associate Director in Boston Consulting Group’s Climate & Sustainability Practice, focused primarily on supporting clients strategic transformations within the Energy Transition & Global Decarbonisation.
Carl has deep industrial, private & public sector expertise in Carbon Capture & Storage (CCS), Hydrogen (H2), Bioenergy, Biofuels & Carbon Removals. His work cuts across a broad variety of sectors from Clean Tech, Oil & Gas, Power & Utilities, Industrial Goods & Private Equity & Financial Institutions, operating at the strategic intersection of science, technology, business & finance.
Prior to moving into consulting Carl had over 16 years of Industrial experience across various engineering, management & strategic development positions. His most recent role was as the Head of Bioenergy & CCS for the Drax Group where he was heavily involved in the early phase development of CCS projects in North America, & the UK’s East Coast Cluster in the Humberside Region.
Carl is a Chartered Engineer, holding an MBA, MSc & a BEng(Hons).
