Hazeem Sultan Al Suwaidi

Mr. Hazeem Sultan Al Suwaidi is CEO of Borouge and has been leading the company’s growth and supporting the development of the UAE’s petrochemicals industry since 2020. He joined Borouge in 2002 and has over two decades of experience in the petrochemical industry.

Al Suwaidi was previously Senior Vice President Regional MEAE and a member of the Borouge Executive Team. He shaped Borouge’s strategy, international expansion activities, and achieved record-breaking sales. As CEO, Al Suwaidi headed the company’s landmark public listing in June 2022, when Borouge became Abu Dhabi’s largest-ever Initial Public Offering and the Middle East’s largest-ever petrochemicals listing.

Prior to that, Al Suwaidi was CEO of Fertil, where he spearheaded the development of ADNOC’s global and regional fertilizer business over a three-year period. Under his leadership, Fertil transformed into a high-performing, market-facing, people centered company, and an enabler of the growth of Abu Dhabi’s fertilizers industry.

During his tenure at Fertil, Al Suwaidi also established the company’s ‘Full Potential Programme’ as part of the PMO - driving cost optimisation initiatives and supporting ADNOC’s key strategic pillars. He also sponsored and oversaw the establishment of Fertil’s Youth Committee, to empower youth and unlock their full potential. Furthermore, Al Suwaidi promoted gender balance, employee engagement, happiness, and wellbeing initiatives at the company.

He is a board member of the Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association (GPCA). Al Suwaidi graduated from California State University - San Bernardino, United States of America, with a Bachelor of Business Administration, majoring in Marketing.
