
Dr. Mohammad Alkazimi

Dr. AlKazimi (Al-Kaa-ze-mie) is an Upstream Oil Industry Analyst at OPEC’s Energy Studies Department. His role focuses primarily, on the analysis and study of medium- to long-term oil supply prospects, as well as overseeing upstream exploration and production costs. In addition to conducting studies on capacity expansion and investment plans, Dr. AlKazimi’s area of expertise involves technological development and its impact on the medium- to long-term oil recovery rate, production and costs.
Prior to joining OPEC in March 2018, he was working for Kuwait Oil Company as a Senior Engineer, Equipment Support and Reliability, within different production areas in the State of Kuwait.
Dr. AlKazimi holds both Master’s and PhD degrees in Petroleum Engineering from Missouri University of Science and Technology (USA). In addition to his MBA in Energy Management from Vienna University of Economics and Business (Austria), he also holds a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering and a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Toledo (USA).
