John has 30 years’ experience across the energy industry in locations all over the globe, primarily in planning, EPC and strategic and management roles at project and corporate level. John joined Kent (formerly Kentech) in 2001 and has been an executive member of the board of directors since 2005 where he has been instrumental in the growth of the company. He has been Kent’s CEO since 2020 and led the Kentech business through the recent acquisition of SNC-Lavalin’s Oil & Gas business and Low Carbon (offshore wind, hydrogen and CCUS) capabilities.
John firmly believes that in order to capture the best talent and appeal to the evolving needs of a future workforce, it requires a new way of thinking. Traditional workplaces need to adapt and leaders need to pay close attention to the culture that lives in their organisation. Flexibility, inclusivity and authenticity need to sit alongside variety, challenge and empowerment. He believes in the need to create workplaces with strong values and an inspirational vision that everyone feels like they can feel a tangible part in achieving.
