  • C-suite dialogues: What is the future for natural gas & LNG in a low-carbon, low-cost landscape?

The global gas & LNG market has grown exponentially and gas is set to overtake coal as the generation fuel of choice over the next decade or so. As demand increases but the need for carbon emissions reduction becomes critical, what longer-term role can gas play in delivering cleaner, more efficient, and cost-effective fuel to established and emerging customers, and how could this best evolve alongside renewable generation capacity?

    • Why do customers choose to buy natural gas & LNG?
    • How can natural gas & LNG be positioned as a long-term solution for power generation requirements?
    • What does the industry need to do to ensure natural gas adapts to customer needs?

Arbitration processes in the offshore oil and gas sector
Session: OFFSHORE PLENARY PANELS
Session Location: Offshore & Marine Theatre Hall 15

  • Arbitration processes in the offshore oil and gas sector

Studies show that international arbitration and mediation is considered amongst the more common forms of dispute resolution for cross border maritime and offshore oil and gas disputes.   Disputes often take up valuable time, money and resources, affecting day-to-day practices and bottom lines.

It is therefore logical that specialised arbitration and mediation provides higher value for complex cases.  Approaching a dispute through court litigation is not the only way to resolve or enforce verdicts.  Arbitration offers a less formal, yet more efficient and flexible method to addressing a dispute, particularly when parties wish to keep their disagreement out of the public arena, therefore saving reputation, time and cost.

To demonstrate the value of the various alternative dispute resolution approaches, this panel will address the advantages of the arbitration processes available in the maritime and offshore oil and gas sector within the region, providing industry stakeholders with a clear understanding of procedures supporting arbitration and mediation and closing disputes outside of court litigation.

Speakers: Majid Obaid Bin Bashir , Emirates Maritime Arbitration Centre (EMAC) Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi , Emirates Maritime Arbitration Centre (EMAC) Richard Briggs , Emirates Maritime Arbitration Centre (EMAC) Edward Newitt , Emirates Maritime Arbitration Centre (EMAC) Maali Khader , Emirates Maritime Arbitration Centre (EMAC) J. • C-suite dialogues: LNG as a global commodity: Japan's development of a more flexible, liquid trading market

A key component of Japan’s future energy strategy to 2030 is the development of a flexible and liquid LNG market and LNG trading hub.
