Higher Education at RMIT, Melbourne & University of Monash, Melbourne.
Contested & Elected as a Member of the Southern Provincial Council in October 2009. Re elected in 2014 and continued as a member until the General Elections in 2015.
Contested & was Elected as a Member of Parliament for the Matara District in the 2015 General Elections. Appointed as the State Minister for Tea Industry Development, after the conclusion of the Presidential Election in November 2019. Contested & was Reelected to Parliament at the 2020 August, General Elections and was appointed as the State Minister for Fisheires.
In April 2022 was Appointed as the Cabinet Minister for Power & Energy. In July 2022, was reappointed as the Minister of Power & Energy.
