Omar is the Director of Corporate Communication and General Services for Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, Government of Dubai. A UAE national, Omar graduated from Higher College of Technology in Al Ain with a degree in general business, a Master degree in strategic project management from Heriot-Watt University in Dubai. Omar joined DSCE in November 2011. In his present role, he is responsible for managing the stream of DSCE’s Strategic Corporate Communication; as well as the General Services (HR, Finance, Legal and IT). Prior to his current role, Omar was Director of Communications at Royal Dutch Shell (Shell Oil in Dubai).
Before joining Shell in 2007, he spent nearly 3 years with the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) where he was in charge of Overseas Promotions (EU & US). Soon after graduating from college, Omar started his career in sales and marketing with Emirates Telecommunications Corporation (Etisalat) in 1998, where he managed government corporate accounts.
Omar is married and has three children. He likes to keep busy with work and his family, and enjoys a jog whenever time allows for it.
