Shoaib has diverse industry experience covering Finance, Telecoms, Energy and Utilities, Oil and gas (upstream and downstream), mining and metals, law-enforcement and insurance. His international experience extends to Australia (Sydney, Brisbane, Perth), China, Malaysia, Vietnam and Singapore. Prior to BCG, Shoaib served as the Chief Information Security Officer at leading Asian telco.


  • Conceived, design & established next-generation Security Operations Center for a leading Mobile operator (Malaysia);
  • Developed enterprise business solutions strategy to monetise technology investments such as enterprise security, enterprise cloud, mobility and digital payments - leading Telecom operator in Malaysia;
  • Conducted multiple risk assessments (SCADA, Gap Analysis, Smart Grid Architecture and associated strategy and technology blue print) for various clients globally (financials, energy and telecom verticals);
  • Acted as a lead security consultant for Smart Grid Smart City project in Australia. Scope of work included operationalisation of the energy company's information security strategy and roadmap;
  • Developed technology strategy and 3 year investment plan for global banking conglomerate and leading energy company in Australia.
