With more than 25 years of diversified experience, Elie Lahoud, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Petrofac Engineering and Construction (E&C), has led the development of high value, complex, multidiscipline EPC projects for onshore upstream and downstream oil and gas facilities, as well as offshore capital projects and renewable energy infrastructure.

Elie joined Petrofac at its main hub in Sharjah in 1997. Under his leadership, Petrofac has executed a number of successful multibillion dollar projects in many countries with a large portfolio of renowned national and international clients.

Elie was appointed COO of Petrofac’s global E&C business in October 2020, reporting to the Group CEO with an overall accountability for delivery of E&C projects driving business value to all stakeholders. Elie has also been instrumental in steering the company’s strategy to align with the new energy outlook.

Prior to becoming COO, Elie served as the Group Managing Director, in charge of running the onshore EPC business in Saudi Arabia, Oman, Iraq and CIS countries as well as offshore capital projects with full P&L responsibilities, reporting to the E&C COO.

As a member of Petrofac’s Group Executive Committee since 2017, Elie has been supporting the development of a diverse and inclusive culture at Petrofac since his early days. He has been the executive sponsor for several business initiatives aimed at developing the competencies of Petrofac’s talent while maintaining and growing Petrofac’s competitiveness, such as the E&C Digital Transformation Initiative, the Delivery Assured Programme, the Future Think Tank and the Petrofac American University of Beirut (AUB) Masters Programme.

Elie also sits on the International Advisory Board for the faculty of engineering of AUB from where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, strengthening the collaboration between both organisations to provide continuous opportunities to distinguished talent.
