Vidya Ramnath

Vidya Ramnath serves as President of Emerson and Emerson Automation Solutions for Middle East and Africa since January 2019. In this role, she oversees a wide set of responsibilities covering strategy, corporate governance, P&L, sales, service and business portfolio growth of Automation Solutions for the region. MEA is one of the fastest growing world areas for Emerson, and Vidya was recently voted #23 in Forbes’s Middle East’s 100 Power Businesswomen 2020. 

Vidya has been a significant contributor for Emerson over the past 25 years. She started her career in instrumentation operations under the Rosemount brand. She formed and led the Project Management Engineering Teams in Singapore, India and China and led the development of Asia Pacific Application Specialist Teams. 

From 2010 she served as platform leader for Digital Transformation sales (Plantweb brand) first for Asia Pacific, then globally. Vidya and her team pioneered programs to seed adoption of wireless technologies and Industrial IoT solutions with key industry international and national companies. This provided a strong foundation for business growth and established a significant installed base of these technologies. 

During this time, Vidya also led a Global Pervasive Sensing Center of Excellence in Singapore, which innovated engineering solutions to help industrial plants operate more efficiently, reliably and safely. 

Vidya holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and a Master of Sciences in Industrial Engineering. She is passionate about mentoring young Leaders and represents Middle East & Africa voice in the Emerson Automation Solutions Diversity Council.
