Abdullah Al Mahri

Abdullah Al Mahri is a UAE national born in 1983. He received his B.S and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Penn State University in 2004 and 2007 respectively. Upon completing his M.S., he spent a year with ADNOC LNG’s operations in Das Island before returning to Penn State to pursue a PhD in Electrical Engineering with a focus in Control Systems. His research work utilized control, signal processing and data analytics tools to develop a novel classification algorithm applied on a GE shoe scanner.
In 2014, he joined ADNOC Gas Processing as a Senior Instrument & Control Engineer at Habshan Complex. While there he was directly involved in the control system upgrade of four GE Frame V compressors and routine maintenance activities. In 2015, he joined the Research & Technology Department in ADNOC Gas Processing where he evaluated, supported and steered a diverse portfolio of research projects within the company. He was also responsible for conducting in-house studies and assessing the economic feasibility of deploying new technologies within the company. To complement his career, Abdullah has also developed his skills in economics and finance by successfully completing the CFA Levels 1 and 2, in December of 2015 and June of 2017 respectively. In 2017 he was assigned as the Strategic Planning Manager for ADNOC Gas Processing, where he was responsible for Corporate Planning, cascading ADNOC’s Strategy into strategic objectives, leading Strategic Studies and Stakeholder Management.
He is currently Director of Investment and Stakeholder Management, UAE Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology.
