Conference

The ADIPEC technical and scientific conference that runs parallel to the exhibition has become known as a meeting of minds for the oil and gas industry. Located in the same venue, under one roof, the conference entices eminent international speakers, researchers and experts with a carefully selected mix of technical presentations, executive plenary sessions, poster sessions and panel discussions. Government officials, oil and gas producers, contractors, investors and technical specialists will share their experiences, opinions and visions on opportunities in the oil and gas sector.

In 2008, 250 speakers were selected from 843 abstracts; the call for papers attracted more than double the amount entered in 2006. Over 2300 registered delegates covering a multitude of disciplines boasts the attraction of attending such an academic conference with high profile speakers.

ADIPEC Conference Committee has appointed Mr. Abdul Monim Al Kindy, General Manager, ADCO as its new Chairman.

Al Kindy joined the Abu Dhabi Petroleum Company (ADPC) in 1975, as an apprentice, and continued his further education in the U.K., and graduated in Mechanical Engineering in 1982. He occupied a number of senior positions in all onshore fields and terminals.  In 1990 he joined British Petroleum, on secondment, and worked in North Sea operations, commercial, and strategy development. In 1997 he was appointed as the Deputy General Manager of ADCO, joined National Drilling Company in 2001, as General Manager, and returned to ADCO in 2007 as its General Manager.

During his training and service he had exposure and work assignments with a number of key companies in the UAE, Europe and the United States. Mr. Al Kindy is a Board Member of Esnaad and NDC and a member of the petroleum Institute Board of Governors.

David Marsland, Shell and Fareed Abdulla, ADCO have joined as ADIPEC Programme Committee Co-chairmen.
